Assignment 1 - Material

How can a textile be utilized to stabilize and fixate?

In this example I've choosen a scenario of extreme trauma, where a textile/mesh would be used to fixate the body/spine of a wounded person. By for example adding water, or in other ways "activating" the textile, it would harden and form a perfect hard cast supporting the body/spine in order to safely move the person.

Worth to point out is that this is just one example of fixating, maybe it could also be used in other scenarios, and on non-human actors and artifacts?

Investigating constructed trancparency in textile

As many absorbing materials gain trancparency when wet or greasy, I wnated to investigate how this could be utilized in more controlled ways for new scenarios/uses. In the examplke below is a patch covering a wound, and in the same time indicating the healing status of the wound through different states of transparency.

Note that depending on the specific scenario the indicator could take many forms: doctor might want a visual of the actual wound, wheras a patient at home might prefer an indicator that doesn't show the wound, but rather explain with icons.
